The mission of Goodland Regional Medical Center Foundation is to promote, advance, and assist in the development of quality systems of health care delivery in cooperation with Goodland Regional Medical Center on behalf of the residents of the Tri-State area.
Chartered by the State of Kansas in 1968 as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit charitable organization, the foundation, originally named the Northwest Kansas Area Medical Foundation, played an essential role in helping finance equipment and furnishings for Goodland Regional Medical Center during its building phase between 1970-1972. This goal was accomplished by soliciting private donations and endowments from local and area residents by members of the foundation board.
We thank you in advance for your contribution!
Following the completion of the hospital in 1972, the Foundation became inactive but was revived in 1983. Its revival coincided with changes in healthcare delivery and reimbursement levels for hospitals. These changes involved providing more and more services on an outpatient rather than an inpatient basis and a scaling back of payments made to hospitals for patient-related services on the part of many third-party payers such as Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance programs.
The Northwest Kansas Area Medical Foundation went inactive in 2016 but revived in 2021 which included a name change to Goodland Medical Foundation, dba Goodland Regional Medical Center Foundation.
Since 2022, Goodland Regional Medical Center Foundation has taken on an ever-expanding role on behalf of Goodland Regional Medical Center. In cooperation with the Goodland Regional Board of Trustees, the Foundation intends to serve as an intermediary between potential donors, grant funders, and the hospital to support and assist with the needed equipment, services, and education assistance of the medical center.
While funding from the medical foundation has provided equipment for nearly every department of Goodland Regional Medical Center at one time or another, additional funds offer medical scholarships for both local high school graduates and hospital personnel.
Unrestricted Gifts
Unrestricted gifts allow the foundation board to use your donation for the highest need at a specific time, to grow to help with a more significant forthcoming purchase, or towards building a larger endowment.
Restricted Gifts
Restricted gifts allow you to donate to a specific department, fundraising campaign, or a larger endowment. Restricted contributions towards a donor-specific purchase will need appropriate approvals before donations can be accepted.
There are many ways to contribute to the foundation.
