Visitor Restrictions Update- Effective March 8, 2021

Visitor Restrictions Update: (Please know that this is subject to change at any time with little notice.)

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Goodland Regional Medical Center has put in place temporary restrictions and guidance for patient visitors for all departments to increase the safety of our patients and employees.  Visitor restrictions are in place to reduce the risk of transmission and spread of the COVID-19 respiratory illness.

COVID-19 Confirmed Patients or COVID-19 Patients Under Investigation:

  • NO VISITORS ALLOWED
  • We encourage patients to remain closely connected to their loved ones through virtual means, including Skype, FaceTime, and/or phone throughout their stay or during their appointment. Staff is available to assist and/or provide a hospital-approved device to do so.
  • Patients with disabilities (which is defined by the ADA as a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a person who has a history or record of such an impairment, or a person who is perceived by others as having such an impairment) who require help with the provision of medical or behavioral health care, activities of daily living, speaking for the patient or keeping the patient safe, may have a designated assistance person if requested.
  • One (1) parent or caregiver will be allowed to remain with the pediatric patient, under the age of 18, during hospitalization or appointment.
  • Appropriate PPE must be worn.

All Hospital Departments/ Goodland Family Health Center/ Specialty Clinic :

  • ONE (1) VISITOR PER PATIENT

The following guidelines apply to all visitors

  • All visitors must check-in at the registration desk of GFHC or Specialty Clinic, the Nurses Station or in ER.
  • Visitors must be 18 years old or older, except in special circumstances or unless they are the parent of a hospitalized child or child who is being seen in the clinic(s).
  • Other siblings may not accompany the parent or caregiver of the pediatric patient under the age of 18, during hospitalization, or during the appointment.
  • Visitors must undergo temperature, travel history, and symptom screening using standardized questions upon arrival.
  • Visitors who are sick will not be permitted to enter the facility; this is without exception.
  • If a visitor does not pass the screening process or does not follow hospital protocols, they will not be allowed to visit.
  • A mask or face covering is required to be worn in all areas of our clinic, including exam rooms and hospital.
  • If you are unable to wear a mask or face covering due to age, a medical reason, disability or it is necessary to see the mouth for communication purposes, we will discuss options with you.
  • Additional family members or friends will not be permitted to enter the facility or to wait in lobbies or common areas, including any/all areas of the hospital/entity—lobbies, waiting areas, common spaces, chapels, cafeteria, and/or any other area within the care location
  • We encourage patients to remain closely connected to their loved ones through virtual means, including Skype, FaceTime, and/or phone throughout their stay or during their appointment. Staff is available to assist and/or provide a hospital-approved device to do so.

Further exceptions to these restrictions may be made in specific circumstances with prior approval, such as for patients who are imminently dying, are on comfort care and need extra support, or who are experiencing life-threatening changes in their medical condition as determined by the provider.

Contract/Delivery Personnel: Personnel who are performing contracted services within the facility must be screened using the Patient/Visitor Screening Form and are required to wear a mask while in the facility.

Our MASK POLICY has NOT changed! ALL patients, visitors, and staff must wear a mask when in the facility.
